Sliding doors are a fine option for terraces. Not only do they let in lots of bright daylight, they are also easy to open, close and lock. They also very rarely require maintenance, and even if you’re not entirely sure on how often you’re going to use your balcony area, there’s never any harm in letting lots of bright daylight into your room. To truly make the most of your balcony and bring as much daylight as possible into your room, you should remove any chunky furniture from your balcony if its not needed. So if you don’t need 5 stalls, a barbecue, a tall flowerpot and a large dinner table, then do without! If your balcony has a roof or awning then it will shut out some daylight when the sun begins to go down, but by moving chunky furniture you can help get more light into your room.
